Saturn Opposition, 2023

August 27, 2023.  Seeing was a bit better than usual last night, but the sky was partially overcast, when I got this image of Saturn. Rings are getting skinny. Will briefly vanish in a couple of years when they are oriented edge on toward the Earth. They are very thin, no more than 30 meters thick. When presented edge on to the Earth (as they will be on March 23, 2025), the rings will vanish briefly.
